Giving

Time, Treasure, Talent

To have money is a privilege. We have been given so much. God's grace has been poured out freely upon us and in response we give back to God what we can. Our time. Our talents. And our treasure.

As followers of Jesus we understand the importance of giving, and giving our money is just one demonstration of our commitment to the work and ministry of the church to which we belong.

We want to be a generous people, providing the church with the resources to do the work of the Kingdom, and demonstrate the extravagant generosity of God to those in need.
Every effort is made to ensure that money given to Coventry Vineyard is used responsibly and wisely. Stewarding the Lord’s money well is a high priority for us and we have measures in place to prevent wastage and to safeguard money given to the church.

As a Charitable Trust and Company, we are governed by both Charity and Company Law. Our trustees receive regular accounts and ensure money is used for the purpose for which it was given. Our annual accounts are audited, and copies are available if you would like to see them.

Under Old Testament law, 10% of a person’s income was to be given as a “tithe”. Now under grace, and because of grace we believe that we are free from the law, so we use the 10% as a guideline or starting point for giving to the local church, with any other offerings beyond that. However, this entirely up to the individual. We encourage each person to “give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7).
