In the early part of 2018, we will be journeying into the interior of our own lives and learning some of the practices that will enable us to thrive and bring life to others.
Transformed individuals transform culture.
We are to called to grow in our own spiritual lives, to be "formed", becoming more like Jesus as we follow Him. But life has a habit of leaving us battered and bruised.
How do we thrive in the midst of loneliness, isolation and disappointment? How do we live a life that is truly worth living? Your soul is the very centre of who you are and who you are becoming. In this series we will learn some practical ways to restore and heal souls, ours and those of others. |

In the first of our talks, Nick introduces the series and asks how life is affecting your soul? The soul is the centre of our life as human beings made in God's image. It is through he soul that we connect with a loving God. Are we nurturing or neglecting the soul? How do we start to heal the soul?

Moses had issues. His issues shaped how he responded to others and how he reacted in moments of conflict. We all have patterns of behaviour that lie under the surface. In this talk Nick encourages us to find restoration for the soul, to seek healing in God's presence. This talk includes testimonies from those getting baptised.

When you hurry through life, you lose your ability to love. The busy-ness of life often prevents us from paying attention to what is going on inside of us. In this talk, Nick highlights the need to stop, wait and be still. When we pay attention, God shows up. As we do, we find that our relationship with God, and not the stuff we do, is the source of our being.
|
What are you here for? In this talk Nick explains, that we cannot hope to find a sense of purpose apart form a sense of calling. When God calls you, you find yourself standing on holy ground. When God calls you, your life starts to make sense. When God calls you, your soul comes alive. When God calls you, you find out who you really are.

There are limits to being human. When we live 'on the limit' or 'over the limit' we fail to thrive. Listen as Nick describes the symptoms of living beyond the limit and how living within limits honours the deepest realities of the life God has given us. Your life is not defined by what you say 'yes' to but what you say 'no' to.

Disappointment is part of life. Using two moments of disappointment from the life of Moses, Nick explains how we can turn our disappointment into intercession. When our bleakest moments lead us into the presence of God, we find hope instead of despair.
|
Rushing through life , weakens the soul. Thankfully there is a God given antidote for this: The Sabbath. In this talk, John & Pauline, share how having a rhythm of rest and sabbath develops our trust in God and enables us to remain in him and prioritise what is most important.

All of us feel lonely at times. In this talk, Vicki explains what we can learn from how Moses dealt with loneliness. As we rest in God's presence, we are transformed and equipped to take his presence to those who are living lonely lives.
|
The only way to succeed in life is to live out of the interior life with others. In this talk, Nick explains the importance of having those around us to encourage and challenge. What if the church measured success in terms of units of love? What if we were committed to one another to see one another (and our church) thrive?

Our soul is like a stream of water, which gives strength, direction, and harmony to every other area of our life. When that stream is as it should be, we are constantly refreshed and exuberant in all we do, because our soul itself is then profusely rooted in the vastness of God and his kingdom, including nature; and all else within us is enlivened and directed by that stream. Therefore we are in harmony with God, reality, and the rest of human nature and nature at large.
