In the beginning a relationship began between God the Creator and Humankind. Made in the image of God, humans were in perfect connection with God, called to rule and reign, to be the agent’s of God’s Kingdom in the world for the sake of the world. And then we decided to go it alone, to reject God and rebel, to go our own way. On that day God made 'The Promise'.
He would make a way back home for those who turned away. He would return as King to bring peace and reconciliation. To pay the price for our rejection and rebellion. To live as a human. The Promise takes place throughout the story of the Old Testament and finds it’s fulfilment in the birth of Jesus. This is how God became King. |

Equip - how the local church transforms the worldThe key objective of following Jesus (and belonging to a church) is to become more like Him. In church we are equipped for "works of service". "He (Jesus) handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ." Kingdom LifeEvery church is distinctive. We are just one small part in the wider Church, the body of Christ. As a part of the 'Vineyard' family of churches there are some key distinctives in what we believe that determine what we do. These distinctives define our personality in the wider Church, and carry our unique way of doing life as followers of Jesus.
In this series we will look at some key values that help us to live out this Kingdom Life and continue to extend God's Kingdom together, everywhere in every way. |
The Resurrection Changes EverythingIn these three talks, Mark Harbour explores how, through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God’s future Kingdom breaks through into the present. The resurrection changes everything. It changes who we are and what we do.
