2019 Talks
This is the place to listen to all the talks from our 2019 Sunday Morning Gatherings. We work hard to ensure our Sunday teaching is always Biblical, accessible and directly life-applicable. All our talks are recorded, not just so that if you miss a Sunday you can catch up, but because we believe that our Sunday teaching is a valuable resource that should be available for anyone at any time. Don't just listen, put what you hear into practice!
Transformed individuals transform culture. We are called to grow in our own spiritual lives, becoming more like Jesus as we follow Him, for the sake of others. This is Spiritual Formation. “Spiritual formation is a process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others.” (M. Robert Mulholland Jr., Invitation to a Journey).
God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. Romans 8:28-29 (The Message) |
One aspect of living in the Kingdom is learning to live a more generous life. Generosity is a response to grace. When we are generous, we participate in our heavenly Father's business of grace. We encourage you to consider how you develop a lifestyle of generosity - how can you be generous with your gifts, space, time, talents, calling and treasure? If you want to go deeper in your walk with Jesus and understand how your life can make a difference we encourage you to consider living a generous life.

This Summer we explore how to tell our story to others, especially those who don't know Jesus. Our hope is that you will be encouraged and equipped to tell your story to those around you.
"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” - Colossians 4:6

Your Story Part 3 : Coming soon...
Jesus had compassion on the crowds he saw around him. His compassion moved him to serve them. Care for people in need is reflective of the heart of God, and has always been a Vineyard priority. Expressing God's love in practical ways is something Jesus called us to do.
However "doing good works" is often costly, inconvenient or challenging. in this series we will explore how to cultivate a compassionate heart, bless others, speak up for those experiencing injustice and partner with those as we serve our neighbours and neighbourhoods. |
Guest Speakers Jim and Vicki Egli guide us through an interactive journey through the story that Jesus taught on "the Good Samaritan" and challenge each of us to respond to the Holy Spirit in how we can serve and bless with our words and deeds
Partnership is a powerful force and a key value in the kingdom of God. Nick shares how we can partner with others to serve in practical ways and bring kingdom change to our neighbourhoods.
Justice is at the very heart of the gosepl and seeking justice for other s is a sign of true discipleship but how do we do this with lasting long-term impact. This talk will give you five key practices to serve others in a way that honours them and Jesus.

Clair reflects on what being compassionate really means, espcially in moments where it is difficult! How did Jesus show compassion? How do we see people like Jesus does? And how do we keep our eyes and hearts open ready for God to work through us?
Our ENGAGE series tackles how to form authentic relationships, and engage with other people in ways that reflect the heart of God toward them. We will look at the following aspects of engaging with others:
When we follow Jesus we are transformed and are being transformed. Transformed people, transform culture. Nick begins this series by looking at how Jesus enagged with his culture and how we can enage with others and form authentic friendships on their turf.
Forgiveness lies at the heart of the gospel and enables us to live authentically with those who offend us. When we experience the power of forgiveness we are empowered to forgive others.
Pauline shares how we can respect those who are different from us and focus on that which we share, that all people are created in the image of God.
In the fourth talk of this series, Vicki and Zia speak about praying with and for others. Listen on to hear about how Jesus taught us to pray, gain some practical pointers on how to respectfully pray for others, and see this demonstrated through prayer for healing.
In the final part of this series Nick looks at how we support each other through challenges such as change and discouragement, fear and failure and how ultimately it is the unfailing love of the Father that sustains and transforms us.
This MULTIPLY series will equip and enable you to respond in obedience to Jesus' call to "go and make disciples". We are called to make 'disciple-making' disciples, but how do we do this on a daily basis?
This series will cover the following five aspects of multiplication:
Vicki shares on how each of us can naturally share the good news of Jesus in a way that enables those far from Jesus become followers of Jesus. She tells us stories of stepping out in faith and talking to people about Jesus.
Nick shares some of the thinking behind why we have intentionally reshaped our church culture to be around making 'disciple-making' disciples. And how for a follower of Jesus, discipleship and disciple-making are not 'options' but fundamentals.
If you make disciples you always get church, however if you make a church you don't always get disciples. In our consumer culture it is easy to think of church as a place where we receive, rather than a community to which we belong and where we make disciples as we are being discipled.
In this Easter message, Nick explores how Jesus defeated death by giving up is final breath. In the tomb he breathed in new resurrection life and breathes on each of us to be filled with the power of the Spirit to go and make disciples.

This YouVersion Bible reading plan takes seven passages and some helpful commentary to equip you in your journey of being and making disciples. Click on the Image to download.
It’s impossible to be a disciple or a follower of someone and not end up like that person. Jesus said, “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher” (Luke 6:40). That’s the whole point of being a disciple of Jesus: we imitate Him, carry on His ministry, and become like Him in the process. -Francis Chan |
We want to grow in our ability to listen to the Holy Spirit and take action according to what we are hearing. In Galatians 5:25 we read that: "Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives."
Over a series of five talks we will be looking at
Vicki introduces the series and explores how we can listen and obey to the Holy Spirit and what this means for us as we live out our day to day lives.
Nick reminds us that God is always at work bringing the life of His kingdom to the broken and lost and invites us to join him in what he is doing: Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday.
Serena looks at the importance of acting in faith and obedience in every circumstance. We look at the importance of being second to following Jesus in our everyday lives.
Susy speaks about acting in faith through loving obedience and how the bible helps us make decision by providing a framework rather than a "sat-nav".
We conclude this series by looking at how God's calling in our lives is a shared call and also an individual one and how God ordains the ordinary to achieve the impossible. How will you respond to the call?
What does it mean to experience God? How do we intentionally and consistently engage with God in such a way that we open ourselves to a deeper understanding of Him and deeper relationship with Him?
Jesus called us to “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” (Luke 10:27) How do we do this in our everyday life? |
Experiencing God: Awareness
Sometimes we feel a sense of God’s presence on an emotional level and sometimes we don’t. We know he is always there, regardless of how we feel. How can we connect to the love and presence of God even when he feels far away from us? How can we be more aware of his presence and experience His love for us whatever season we are in? How do we practice the presence of God on a daily basis? |
Experiencing God: Authentic Conversation
So many people of faith talk about the importance of prayer, yet it can be really difficult. Why is this? And what can we do about it? Vicki answers this by looking at the prayer life of Jesus - focusing on how prayer can be an authentic two way conversation with God. |
Experiencing God: Growing in knowing
A disciple is someone who has apprenticed themselves to a master: To do what the master does and become like the master. To follow someone is to know someone. In this talk Nick shares how disciples of Jesus are formed into His likeness. We do this by growing in the knowledge and grace of God. |
Experiencing God: Applying Scripture to Life
We experience God in the pages of Scripture, yet Scripture (or the Bible) can be a challenge to read or understand. In this talk Nick looks at some practical ways in which we can reflect on and apply scripture to everyday life and as we do, be transformed. |
Experiencing God: Worshipping in Spirit and Truth
In this talk, worship leader Beth McNeil speaks on how to worship God in Spirit and in Truth as part of our experience of whole-life worship. We were designed and created to worship. Everone worships something. We worship what we most value, and building our lives with Jesus at the centre is the best thing we could possibly do. |
